Marco Piva presents the new colours Nero Assoluto and Bianco Assoluto
The Bianco Assoluto and Nero Assoluto colours were officially unveiled at Cersaie 2017 in Bologna in an event that saw the participation of the architect Marco Piva. Extending the chromatic range of the company's full-body sintered stone, the two new colours represented the headline news on the Lapitec stand, also forming the theme for a day that featured a body painting performance and the début showing of a video presenting the updated colour palette to the market.
The actual presentation took place during a press conference that was opened by Lapitec sales and marketing manager Michele Ballarin and that also included a short talk by Marco Piva (Studio Marco Piva).
«With the production of the Bianco Assoluto and Nero Assoluto, Lapitec will allow discerning designers to express the simple or complex forms of modern and emerging architecture with impeccable refinement and elegance ».
«Interest in Lapitec products was immediate – confirms Marco Piva – because the sintered stone made by Lapitec S.p.A. offers an extraordinary unison of the time-honoured characteristics of natural stone and the performance of the most advanced synthetic materials developed for use in the fields of architecture and design. The uniform texture, colours that are always elegant and never reliant on simple mimicry, the slab dimensions, significantly larger than natural stone sizes, endow Lapitec with a series of absolutely unique properties».
The first design opportunity that led the architect to choose Lapitec as the primary surface for one of his buildings arose from a project to construct a large luxury home in what is perhaps California’s most exclusive location: Beverly Hills. The Lapitec slabs will be sized, pre-cut, and then shipped for assembly on the job site to clad a complex system of prismatic façades. Furthermore, the material has been created specifically for mounting to a structural frame that complies with the highly restrictive anti-seismic regulations in force in California. LAPITEC is also capable of meeting stringent requirements in terms of weather resistance and chromatic stability through time.
Piva continues «We’re also currently working with sintered stone to complete the design of counters/sculptures for the high-tech kitchen and the dining areas, with their breathtaking views over downtown LA».
